TikTok has quickly become a source of breaking celebrity news, and Hailey Bieber is a name that can pique interest at the drop of a hat. The model and wife of superstar Justin Bieber took to the social media platform to announce a new cooking series she's creating on YouTube, which sent her followers into a tizzy. While many can't wait to see her work her magic in the kitchen, others are more skeptical of her cooking prowess (and her motivation behind the new venture.)

@haileybieber

so excited to introduce a brand new series on my yt channel, WHAT'S IN MY KITCHEN? this series is inspired by your response to me making the pizza toast, creamy tuscan pasta, smoothies, and more. I'm excited to take you all even deeper into my actual home kitchen!

♬ original sound – Hailey Bieber

Hailey's new YouTube segment, titled What's in my kitchen?, will feature her in her actual home kitchen, cooking up dishes that she enjoys. As the socialite explains in the first episode that has her making chocolate chip pancakes, she is a "foodie that loves to cook, not a professional chef." In her TikTok announcement, the star said that she is "so excited" to do a deep dive into all things food with her fans—but some of the comments seem to draw a relentless parallel with Selena Gomez and her popular HBO show Selena + Chef.

Gomez's show follows the singer and actress on a novice culinary journey, where she's joined by an impressive cast of chefs and food personalities such as Gordon Ramsay. Despite this comparison, Bieber claims that her new cooking series is inspired by the internet's interest in her viral pizza toast, creamy tuscan pasta, smoothies, and more.

One follower wrote, "Love it that Sel inspires you so much," while another said, "So innovative, maybe u should do a cooking show with HBO Max." Others joked that the model should launch her own cooking show on Hulu.

Selena and Hailey are bound to be pitted against each other by the public, considering the fact that some fans still can't get over Selena's breakup with Justin Bieber in 2018.

Although Entertainment Tonight claims that the pair "has cleared the air" after an unexpected photo together, fans still seem to enjoy taking any opportunity to push the dramatic rivalry narrative. Regardless of the several negative comments, many did come to Bieber's defense.

After a user sarcastically described Hailey's pancake recipe as "a revolutionary, groundbreaking culinary achievement," one follower clapped back. "Just leave her alone," the person said. "She is showing what is in her kitchen and did not claim she's Gordon Ramsay 2.0."

Another responded, "It's her cooking for her YouTube Channel like she did already during quarantine with Justin, before Selena's show."

This is not the first time Bieber has dabbled in the culinary world as her well-loved series, "Who's in my bathroom?," showcases famous celebs spilling the tea over their favorite meals and snacks. Only time will tell where this cooking series takes her!

When award-winning actor Stanley Tucci isn't gracing the silver screen, it's safe to say he's spending plenty of time in the kitchen.

From sharing his recipes with fans on Instagram to uncovering the regional cuisines of Italy in his CNN docuseries Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy, the actor has become a bona fide food celebrity as well. And with the holidays right around the corner, he is giving home cooks a taste of his kitchen know-how yet again, with a meal kit that can be delivered to their door.

As part of his multi-year partnership with S. Pellegrino, the Italian-American actor is debuting "S.Pellegrino's Taste of Tucci," a meal kit featuring one of his original holiday recipes: Gnocchetti con Salsiccia e Broccolini. The kit is assembled by and sold through the chef-driven meal kit service World Chef.

"It's a recipe that you can make with your family and friends, and it's really, really simple to make," Tucci said at a recent event celebrating the product's launch. "It's a ubiquitous and classic Italian recipe."

The kit—which serves four to six people—includes Tucci-approved, locally sourced items like crumbled sausage, broccolini, and fennel, in addition to artisanal ingredients flown in from Italy, like pecorino romano cheese, extra virgin olive oil, and the star of the show: gnocchetti sardi—a traditional pasta from Sardinia.

Additionally, customers will receive detailed recipe instructions, a QR code that will grant them access to an exclusive cook-along video, and a bottle of S. Pellegrino.

For those whose mouths are already watering, the limited-time package will be available through World Chef for $120, plus shipping, while supplies last.

The release of this product isn't Tucci's first collaboration with S. Pellegrino. The duo first kicked off their partnership last February with the premiere of a digital and TV campaign in which the actor encouraged viewers to discover and savor simple Italian virtues—community, friendship, and joy.

Then, in June, Tucci teamed up with the sparkling water brand to give one lucky winner $10,000 to "take time off and summer like an Italian." As a bonus, the giveaway also included a summer's supply of S.Pellegrino and S.Pellegrino Essenza.

Chrissy Teigen is known for everything; from being a supermodel and TV personality to a highly active social media presence, a very proud mother of two, and the wife and muse of "All of Me" singer-songwriter John Legend. However, I actually became a superfan of Chrissy after I started collecting her Cravings cookbooks.

As each book entered my ever-expanding cookbook collection, I instantly found new go-to recipe favorites. So, when I found out her Cravings brand was going to expand to include a line of baking mixes, it's not an exaggeration to say that I wanted to be first in line to try them out.

About the Cravings by Chrissy Teigen baking mixes

Currently, the Cravings by Chrissy Teigen collection of baking mixes includes three different types of baked goods: Chrissy's Ultimate Banana Bread Mix, the Buttermilk Mochi Pancake & Waffle Mix, and Salted White Chocolate Macadamia Cookie Mix.

What's particularly unique about this line is that each one of these mixes has a fun story behind it. For example, the banana bread mix is actually based on a recipe from Teigen's book Cravings: Hungry for More. Meanwhile, the pancake and waffle mix was reportedly inspired by a weekly tradition from husband John Legend, which the Teigen-Legend household endearingly refers to as "Pancake Sundays." (How sweet is their family?)

Also, Teigen's Twitter fans may recall early on during the COVID-19 pandemic when she needed romaine lettuce so badly that she made a trade with a pair of good Samaritans in order to track down this leafy green. In exchange for wine and a number of baked goods—including her homemade banana bread—Teigen was able to get the few romaine hearts she so desperately needed. Clearly, this banana bread is a very important part of her life and relationships—thus, trying it out for myself has become rather important to me.

With that in mind, I set out to take a crack at baking with one of these mouthwatering baking mixes. Here's what I realized upon attempting to bake with Chrissy's Ultimate Banana Bread Mix.

You don't need to be an experienced baker

chrissy teigen baked banana bread recipe

I should start by saying that I generally consider myself to be more of a savory home cook rather than a baker. (Personally, I find baking very intimidating!) But over the weekend, I decided to whip up some banana bread using Chrissy's Ultimate Banana Bread Mix for a Sunday brunch gathering—and the process could not have been easier.

The ingredients for this mix combine banana with dark chocolate chunks and coconut. All I had to add were the following:

 • 2 eggs
 • 1/3 cup of oil
 • 3/4 cup of water

After combining these ingredients with the mix and also lightly greasing up my loaf pan, I then poured the mixture into the pan and baked it in the oven at 325°F for about 65 to 70 minutes on the center rack of your oven.

This recipe was not only easy to follow, but the results were delicious, too. The sweet banana flavor came through—but not in an over-the-top, too-strong way. Also, the gooey dark chocolate and coconut was a perfect balance for the sweet banana flavor. I love the idea of adding chocolate and coconut to banana bread; it truly makes it so much more complex and flavorful than a basic, old-school loaf of banana bread.

While the directions on the box suggest baking the bread, letting it cool, warming it up again, and then adding salted butter, don't be surprised if you find yourself wanting to eat it straight from the oven when the chocolate is still all hot and melty. That was the perfect bite for me and my crew—and our banana bread was gone in no time at all.

When it comes to baking, Chrissy has your back

Another fun feature of these mixes is if you visit the online product page for each variety, Teigen shares some of her own tips and tricks for making each mix even more delicious. For example, on the page for the Ultimate Banana Bread, she suggests modifying the recipe to make banana bread muffins. While she suggests this as a way to freeze and store the banana bread to have a portion anytime, I see this as a great way to have a grab-and-go breakfast on busy mornings.

Additionally, these baking mixes are quite budget-friendly! The individual boxes of baking mixes range from $7–$10 each, or you can get a bundle that includes all three mix varieties for $21.

Given the popularity of her cookbooks and her own viral appeal, these baking mixes seem like a natural progression for Chrissy Teigen's Cravings brand. Expanding her line to include more food products just makes sense, and it's exciting to think about what else Teigen might cook up and debut next!

Is Kathy Hilton's Baked Potato With Caviar Healthy? The post Is Kathy Hilton's Baked Potato With Caviar Healthy? Here's What a Dietitian Says appeared first on Eat This Not That.

]]>
Butter and baked potatoes go together like peanut butter and jelly or peas and carrots. And for many of us, topping our low-cost and highly-accessible baked spuds with posh, decadent, high-brow toppings wouldn't cross our mind. However, if you are a Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fan, you may have noticed a unique potato topping that one of the cast members served at a luncheon.

Until the latest season of the RHOBH aired, many of us had no idea that caviar—a delicacy oftentimes reserved for cocktail hour and enjoyed in small quantities on top of a cracker or miniature savory pancake—could be used as a filling for our beloved underground-grown, starchy veggie and enjoyed during a casual lunch. Thanks to Kathy Hilton, we now know that eating a baked potato filled with butter, sour cream, and heaping spoonfuls of caviar scooped with a mother-of-pearl spoon (of course) is a thing.

In case you missed it, during season 12, episode 11 of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kathy Hilton—mother of socialites Paris and Nikki Hilton—hosted an intimate lunch with her sister, Kyle, where she served a single baked potato on a plate. Kathy shared how she enjoys eating her caviar-topped spud, much to the bewilderment of her sister and many viewers.

"I'm doing it like they do at Caviar Kaspia in Paris," the Hilton family's matriarch explains to her younger sister Kyle as she carefully loads her baked potato with scoop after scoop of black caviar.

There is no doubt that topping a baked potato with caviar is a lavish and totally Instagram-worthy meal. But for those trying to support a healthy lifestyle, the question of whether this combo is healthy may be raised. As a registered dietitian (and die-hard Kathy Hilton fan), I got to the bottom of whether the infamous caviar potato dish can be a part of a healthy diet. Here is what I found out.

What is caviar?

The basic ingredients for the reality show-famous caviar-potato combo are a plain baked potato, caviar, butter, and sour cream. While not a common potato topping, caviar can be added to various recipes. The most common way to eat this food is over toast points.

So, what exactly are these tiny spheres that can cost a pretty penny and make any dish look extra-fancy when they are added?

Caviar is made from unfertilized fish eggs, traditionally using sturgeon as the fish of choice. The tiny fish eggs are rinsed, sorted, and salted before they are chilled, drained, and packaged.

In a nutshell, when people are eating caviar, they are eating the unfertilized eggs of a sturgeon fish that are rinsed, salted, chilled, and likely aged. In some circles, the term caviar can be used to describe other salted and aged fish eggs besides sturgeon. But for Kathy Hilton's lunchtime accompaniment, the classic sturgeon caviar is what is used in her baked potato repast.

Is caviar healthy?

When we think of health foods, a scoop of caviar doesn't typically come to mind. But these fish eggs are surprisingly packed with good-for-you nutrients that many of us are not getting enough of throughout the day.

According to the USDA, a one-ounce serving of caviar provides:

 • 74 calories
 • 7 grams of protein
 • 1 gram of carbohydrate
 • 0 grams of added sugars

Caviar also contains a wide array of micronutrients, as well. Just one ounce of it provides:

 • 78 mg calcium
 • 3 mg iron
 • 85 mg magnesium
 • 18.6 micrograms selenium
 • 139 mg choline
 • 5 micrograms vitamin B12

Caviar also contains lutein and zeaxanthin, carotenoids that support eye health, as well as vitamin D, a key nutrient that supports bone health.

One of the most impressive features of caviar is its quantity and type of fat. Of the 5 grams of total fat that 1 ounce of caviar provides, almost 20% is in the form of DHA omega-3 fatty acid, or healthy fat that plays a key role in brain, eye, and heart health. Caviar provides both monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids—also known as the "healthy fats" that many of us need more of in our diets.

The downside of caviar

While caviar does provide an impressive array of nutrients, there are some noteworthy downsides in the nutrition department. With 425 milligrams of sodium per 1-ounce serving of caviar (around 20% DV), this delicacy can have too much sodium for people following a low-sodium diet, depending on how much sodium they include in the rest of their diet.

Additionally, certain varieties of caviar can contain high levels of contaminants, including polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), brominated flame retardants, and potentially toxic metals. For people who are reserving their caviar consumption for a once-in-a-while treat, the quantity of these contaminants that will be consumed will likely not be enough to cause harm. But if you eat caviar by the spoonful multiple times a day, you may want to consider pumping the breaks.

Foodborne illness isn't typically linked to the consumption of caviar. But since most caviar options are essentially unpasteurized tiny fish eggs, there is a risk of experiencing foodborne illness.

What about the potato and condiments?

It is clear that caviar offers a variety of nutrients that can support our overall health. But what you use as the vessel for the caviar can make or break your healthy eating goals, depending on your choice.

The good news is that a russet baked potato is a natural source of carbohydrates, fiber, vitamin C, vitamin B6, and a handful of other nutrients. It is a food that is incredibly easy to cook and is even more enjoyable to eat.

As for the butter and the sour cream, a dollop of each can add some satisfying flavor and creaminess to the potato dish. But overloading your spud with these dairy-packed foods can lead to a meal that is loaded with saturated fat and calories.

The bottom line

Combining one of the most high-brow delicacies and one of the most accessible and low-cost veggies is an intriguing dish. And those who can enjoy the finer things in life can rest assured that this dish that Mrs. Hilton made famous is packed with nutrients and can be a healthy part of a balanced diet. The caviar provides protein, healthy fats, and a slew of micronutrients, and the potato provides energizing carbs and satiating fiber. And as long as the portions of the sour cream and butter are under control, adding these condiments into the mix can add some unique flavor and richness. Enjoying this dish with a side salad and having a piece of fruit for dessert can round out this meal in a delicious way. But if a person wants to simply stick to the caviar-potato combo, that can be satisfying and nutritious on its own as well.

For those of us who don't live in the 90210 area code and want to experience a potato a la Mrs. "Hunky Dory" Hilton, fortunately for us, caviar is having a moment of accessibility that may be here to stay. While the classic caviar that comes from sturgeon remains costly, there are other fish egg options that can give a similar vibe to dishes without the hefty price tag. From salmon eggs to trout eggs to even whitefish eggs, there is a wide variety of fish egg options—also known as roe—that don't fall under the sturgeon-egg umbrella, but still taste rich and flavorful.

So, start scrubbing your potatoes and prepare your mother-of-pearl oyster spoon, knowing that you can enjoy a caviar spud on occasion and not completely derail your healthy dietary goals. This is a dish that is both Kathy Hilton and dietitian-approved.

The post Healthy Habits Kim Kardashian Swears by To Live Her Best Life at 42 appeared first on Eat This Not That.

]]>
Today is Kim Kardashian's birthday, and despite turning one year older, the reality TV star, entrepreneur, and mother of four shows no signs of slowing down. In addition to taking care of her family, partnering with plant-based meat substitutes company Beyond Meat, and filming the upcoming season of the Kardashians, the celeb known for "breaking the internet" is also continuing to pursue a law degree and simultaneously overseeing her shapewear brand Skims, which the New York Times recently reported has a valuation of $1.6 billion.

Now 42 years old, Kardashian has every reason in the world to feel better than ever. But what's the secret to Kim K's youthful energy and glow?

Fortunately, because she has spent so much of her career generously sharing her life with the public, we identified few healthy habits Kardashian has been known to embrace daily. So, as Kim Kardashian embarks on her 42nd trip around the sun, we're gifting our readers with the eating, drinking, and fitness habits she's adopted over the years to manage her health and feel amazing.

She eats a mostly plant-based diet

Kim Kardashian has reportedly been eating a plant-based-focused diet since 2019, and was even named chief taste consultant for Beyond Meat earlier this year. In an interview with People, Kim K attributed her plant-based diet to her ability to better manage her psoriasis.

"I just do my best to stay as plant-based as possible, unless it's a treat day," Kardashian reportedly told People. "I try to eat as many anti-inflammatory and antioxidant foods as possible."

The reality TV star also discussed how eating plant-based food alternatives has positively affecter her overall health.

"It's made me more mindful about how what I put in my body affects me, not just psoriasis but also my mood, my stress levels, my energy, everything," she added.

She doesn't drink alcohol

Kim Kardashian

According to multiple sources, Kim Kardashian doesn't drink alcohol, and it's something she hasn't been interested in for quite some time. Last year, she shared a post on Instagram featuring a photo from her "college years," when she was visiting her sister older Kourtney on campus, with the caption noting how young Kim was tapped as Kourt's designated driver.

"I hated all of the wild parties so much that I stayed home and never wanted to drink or party EVER," Kim K wrote in the Instagram post.

With the exception of a few celebratory shots every few years, Kim's distaste for hard partying has led her to mostly abstain from drinking alcohol, according to Vogue.

She loves early morning workouts and is consistent

Along with sticking to a healthy eating plan, Kim is also dedicated to her early morning workout routine. She recently told Vogue that she wakes up at 5:30 every morning to exercise. Furthermore, Kim consistently hits the gym six days a week for approximately 60–90 minute-long workout sessions, according to Women's Health.

Kim K's trainer Melissa Alcantara claims that the majority of Kim's workouts focus on weights and strength training.

"[Eighty-five percent] of our training is weight training, and the other 15 is made up of cardio," Alcantara said in a 2021 article for Women's Health.

Alcantara also describes Kim as highly self-motivated and says that she appreciates Kim's commitment to fitness because she seldom cancels her workout appointments.

"It's just her drive. She's like, 'I have to work out, this is part of my life.' It's all about the mindset," Alcantara told Women's Health.

She's made mistakes

Kim Kardashian at the Met Gala

While Kim K has generously opened up about health habits she regularly engages in, she's also faced significant criticism for some unhealthy habits, too. After appearing at the 2022 Met Gala wearing the gold gown Marilyn Monroe wore as she famously performed "Happy Birthday" for former President JFK, it was revealed that Kardashian went to great measures to lose enough weight to squeeze into the form-fitting gown.

To fit into this dress, she reportedly dropped around 15 pounds—essentially through crash dieting.

"I would wear a sauna suit twice a day, run on the treadmill, completely cut out all sugar and all carbs, and just eat the cleanest veggies and protein," Kardashian reportedly told Vogue. "I didn't starve myself, but I was so strict."

Kim even temporarily abandoned her mostly plant-based diet to accommodate more real meat, all for the sake of this Met Gala moment. Although Kardashian disclosed to Allure her diet was overseen by a nutritionist and trainer, going to extreme measures for one evening in vintage couture did take a toll on her health, even causing a painful psoriasis flare-up.

"Psoriasis broke out over my body and I got psoriatic arthritis, so I couldn't really move my hands," she reportedly told Allure in August. "It was really painful, and I had to go to a rheumatologist who put me on a steroid. I was freaking out. I cut out the meat again, and it's calmed down."

At the end of the day, it's important to understand that although Kim Kardashian looks incredible at the age of 42, many factors have contributed to this—some healthy, some not so great, and almost all the product of an inordinate amount of wealth and fame. While Kim Kardashian's approach to healthy living may not be sustainable for everyone, it's certainly interesting to get to look inside the celebrity's regular routine. In addition to praising Kim K for her triumphs and the healthy habits she engages in, we can also learn from her errors in judgment—and choose better for ourselves.

]]>
Renowned New York City restaurateur Keith McNally took to Instagram on Monday to announce he had banned British comedian James Corden from his Manhattan restaurant Balthazar for alleged super rude behavior toward servers and staff.

Describing the host of The Late Late Show with James Corden as a "hugely gifted comedian, but a tiny Cretin of a man…and the most abusive customer to my Balthazar servers since the restaurant opened 25 years ago," McNally pulled no punches in defense of his staff.

"I don't often 86 a customer, today I 86'd Corden. It did not make me laugh," the post continues. The term "86'd" is common in the restaurant industry to describe either a dish being taken off the menu or a patron being denied service.

RELATED: The Great British Baking Show Faces Major Backlash Due to This Offensive Episode

Corden clearly took note of the Instagram post and the high-profile restaurant ban quickly. Less than eight hours after the original post, McNally provided an update letting everyone know Corden had called and "apologized profusely."

"…anyone magnanimous enough to apologize to a deadbeat layabout like me (and my staff) doesn't deserve to be banned from anywhere. Especially Balthazar. So Come Back to the 5 & Dime, Jimmy Corden, Jimmy Corden. All is Forgiven," the update reads.

Once dubbed the "Restaurateur Who Invented Downtown" by The New York Times, Keith McNally has been active and influential on New York City's restaurant scene for decades. Turns out his social media presence holds some sway as well. But what set off this celebrity culinary clash in the first place?

According to McNally's original post, there were actually two incidents involving Corden at Balthazar. The first occurred in June of this year when Corden allegedly found a hair in his food.

"Corden showed the hair to Balthazar manager G. who was very apologetic. Corden was extremely nasty.." McNally explains, adding that Corden demanded "another round of drinks this second" all while simultaneously threatening to "write nasty reviews" online.

Fast forward to October 2022 and Corden returned to Balthazar.

"Mr. Corden's wife ordered an egg yolk omelette with gruyere cheese and salad. A few minutes after they received the food, James called their server, M. K., and told her there was a little bit of egg white mixed with the egg yolk," McNally explains.

When the omelette was brought back with home fries instead of a salad as the side, Corden allegedly began "yelling like crazy" at the waiter, saying "You can't do your job! You can't do your job! Maybe I should go into the kitchen and cook the omelette myself!"

After a visit from the restaurant manager and a few complimentary glasses of champagne McNally claims Corden calmed down, but "M.K. (the server) was very shaken, but professional that she is, continued to finish her shift."

Keith McNally has been no stranger to controversy himself. The restaurateur has raised eyebrows in recent years with his defense of Woody Allen and praise of Roman Polansky. Allen is accused (but not charged) of child abuse by his daughter Dylan Farrow, while Polanski was arrested and charged with statutory rape in 1979.

There was a lot to talk about following last week's episode of The Great British Baking Show on Netflix, which featured Mexican week in the baking tent. While the production has previously tackled various multicultural bakes, the episode on some of the most popular food items from Mexico drew particular criticism thanks to its tone-deaf jokes and cultural stereotyping.

The charming production, featuring amateur bakers who compete against each other in a friendly and incredibly British competition, has been a cult favorite since its 2010 inception. We've seen the technical challenges behind English muffins and we've learned the mechanics behind trifles. Typically, the most shocking part of the show is when someone is eliminated when their bakes crumble or their flavors don't mesh well.

RELATED: Elon Musk, 51, Has Healthy, Fit Habits You'll Want To Copy

Not this week. Never before were viewers as shocked and horrified—as they were while watching the cringe-worthy Mexican episode.

It all started with the opening scene, where co-hosts Matt Lucas and Noah Fielding, who were wearing colorful serapes and sombreros, discussed whether they should shy away from making Mexican jokes. "Not even Juan?" Lucas joked. And it didn't get any better from there.

The bakers were tasked with making pan dulce, steak tacos with beans, pico de gallo, and guacamole (an odd choice for a baking show), and tres leches cakes.

Lucas shook the maracas; the hosts mispronounced common Mexican dishes; and they noted that the dishes looked Mexican because they were colorful. After one of the contestants literally peeled an avocado with a peeler, and Fielding questioned whether Mexico actually is a real place, viewers had had enough.

"The Great British Bake Off Mexican week has been a disgusting display of crimes against humanity," one person Tweeted, while another said, "As a Brit, I can tell you that The Great British Bake Off's Mexican Week episode is pretty much a perfect masterclass for the uninitiated on the very specific kind of casual racism that is British casual racism."

And another wrote on Instagram, "Completely misinforming the world about actual Mexican cuisine as well as so casually . . . Unsurprising and always disappointing British behavior."

Some have pointed out that the episode isn't a one-off debacle, but a crescendo of everything that is wrong with the show. According to Eater, The Great British Baking Show has a history of taking a superficial approach to cultural bakes, while its producers seem stubborn to the idea of making better, more informed and informative programming.

A person's daily calorie needs vary slightly based on gender and age, ranging from 2,000 to 2,600 calories a day. Brian Shaw, 40, is a healthy, active adult, but one for whom even 2,600 calories aren't going to cut it. In fact, that's usually not even enough calories for a single meal. For Shaw, that "active" part of his lifestyle includes competing in top-level strongman competitions, the biggest of which, the official World's Strongest Man competition, Shaw won four times. And he has placed in the top tier of that competition many more times than that.

To win a competition like that, which includes events like lifting the Atlas Stones—some of which weigh more than 350 pounds—overhead presses of weights as heavy as 835 pounds, and vehicle pulls of busses, fire trucks, and airplanes, Shaw has to spend a lot of time exercising and training with immense amounts of weight.

He also has to eat a lot of food every day that he is in training or competition. As in enough food to help him maintain a weight that often well exceeds 400 pounds as he preps for an event, that provides him thousands of calories to burn through each day, and enough protein to build muscles that can, quite literally, lift cars. Here's what the world's strongest man eats in a day. Plus, don't miss What a Celeb Trainer Eats in a Day.

He eats 4-times the amount of most people.

And that's less fun than you'd think it would be. One of the hardest parts about being the World's Strongest Man is the eating, says Shaw. He explained that as he begins training for an upcoming event, he'll look to consume "8,000 calories a day, give or take, as I'm starting to ramp up, and then at the top end, for those biggest, most challenging competitions, I get up in the 10,000 to 11,000 calorie per day range."

He packs in pounds of meat, cups of rice, and lots of fruit.

When Shaw is training for a strongman challenge the go-to choice is meat. "On a daily basis, in a given meal, I'm eating probably close to a pound of meat. And a lot of the measurements that I take are after cooking, too. It really is a tremendous amount of food, and you have to do that every couple of hours when you're in training," he said. I always looked at it like: 'What's the best bang for your buck?' If I was going to be eating something, what was I going to get out of it? What nutrients? In my opinion, for a strength athlete, red meat always offers the best reward."

The only time meat isn't the star of his meal is breakfast. Breakfast is usually eight eggs scrambled with two cups of rice and orange juice blended with spinach, he told Men's Health, the rest of the day is dedicated to meat. For some of his meals he also adds in Honeycrisp apples, blackberries, and blueberries. There's always a ton of rice and sometimes he has a spinach salad on the side. Where does he get all of this food? Costco, of course! Ride along on a shopping trip with Shaw to Costco to see his expensive grocery haul.

He rounds things out with shakes.

Shaw also will rely on shakes while training he finds it difficult to actually chew as much as he needs to, He would eat six whole meals as well as a shake and various supplements while in training: "For me, the eating was the hardest part of everything. I enjoyed walking into the gym each day, I enjoy the training. But that's only a short part of it. Eating was from when I woke up in the morning until I went to bed at night."

His favorite cheat meal is cheesecake.

tons of cheesecake

Shaw does allow himself the occasional "cheat" treats even when training. Asked what his go-to cheat food was, he answered at once: "Cheesecake." Working with a nutritionist who would literally "program in cheat meals" during Shaw's grueling fitness and diet routine, Shaw knew that now and then he could have that favorite food slipped in, and thus every once in a while he could actually enjoy eating. Unlike us, though, Shaw has been known to eat four pieces of cheesecake at a time! He picks up the Mini Cheesecake Treats from Costco for those special moments.

It takes a big person to admit that their signature recipe isn't the best, but that's what Courteney Cox of Friends fame admitted yesterday about her steak recipe. In an Instagram video, she makes the "greatest steak of all time." The recipe isn't hers though, which she admits is pretty amazing, but a famous friend's. "I thought that my recipe was good," she says, "but I actually got this from Brandi Carlisle and hers is better than mine." Brandi Carlile is a singer/songwriter who apparently also makes the best steak in the world. Here's how it's done. Plus, don't miss The Best & Worst Cuts of Steak—Ranked!

Prep the steak with a flavorful oil.

Cox lays the steaks inside a pan, the recipe posted on Instagram says to have them at room temperature. She then sprinkles the steak with truffle oil, but you can use olive oil per the recipe. (Honestly, I wouldn't waste expensive truffle oil on a steak that's just going to be cooked. Save it to drizzle on after.)

Use coffee and brown sugar to coat it.

This is where things get interesting. Courteney Cox tops the steak with the requisite coarse salt and pepper, but also adds lots of freshly ground coffee and a sprinkling of brown sugar. Many steak rubs contain both ingredients but she put them on separately. I imagine this browns the exterior of steak and adds a ridiculously delicious crust.

Use garlic salt to season the asparagus side.

Cox serves the steak with pureed cauliflower and grilled asparagus spears. Her asparagus uses a secret old-fashioned ingredient: Lawry's Garlic Salt. " You could chop garlic, you could put salt on it," she says, "Or you could just do this." Lawry's original seasoned salt, which is an old-school blend of salt and spices, came out in 1938 and was used exclusively by Lawry's The Prime Rib Restaurant in Beverly Hills. It was so popular there that guests actually stole the salt to use at home until McCormick began packing and selling it with a few delicious variations.

Sear the steaks and re-dip.

Next, she takes the steaks out to what could be the biggest grill I've ever seen, but you can use a grill pan or a cast iron pan. She sears them on both sides for three minutes, re-dips them in the coffee-brown sugar oil, and throws them back on the grill. "I'm not a chef," she says. "I just make things that taste good." The internet approves, as the post has over 217,000 likes and a slew of approving comments, including one from Carlile herself.

Sarah Jessica Parker has become one of the most iconic women in Hollywood since her start as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City back in 1998, and with Hocus Pocus 2 set to release on September 30th and the Sex and the City spin-off And Just Like That currently filming for season 2, SJP isn't slowing down anytime soon.

As a 57-years-old actor, businesswoman, wife, mother, and fashion icon, SJP gets plenty of questions about how she looks so great and has maintained such good health through the years.

Parker has pursued more "natural" aging compared to what is normal in Hollywood today, with experts guessing she's had "minimal work done," and her natural grey hair almost breaking the internet earlier this year.

So how has SJP stuck to such a busy, thriving life while maintaining such good health in her late 50s? Back in 2011, Parker talked about following the Hampton Diet, which is known as being a combination of the Mediterranean Diet, the Atkins Diet, and the South Beach Diet. However, there aren't many sources that say she's still following this plan of eating.

Read on to learn some of Parker's more recent discussions about her eating and health habits, and for more celeb news check out Viola Davis Swears by These 5 Healthy Habits To Look Amazing at 57.

She treats herself

In Vogue's 73 Questions with Sarah Jessica Parker, it's clear within the first few minutes that SJP knows how to enjoy her favorite things, especially when it comes to food. The interviewer asks his rapid-fire, food-related questions, and SJP quickly answers while sitting on her velvet green couch.

"What's your favorite food?" "Barbuto's Roast Chicken," she says. "What do you love on your pizza?" "Sausage, peppers, onions," she replies. "What's your favorite drink?" "Coke-a-cola." "What's your favorite dessert?" "My sister's brownies." And finally, "dark chocolate or milk chocolate?" "Milk chocolate," she answers.

In a 2021 interview with Grub Street of New York Magazine, SJP shares how she feels about savoring her favorite foods with her husband, Matthew Broderick.

"One-hundred percent, eating food I love feels like a luxury. In our house, we're constantly paying attention to the level of enjoyment at the table," she says. "I don't want to suggest our entire conversation at dinner is grading the meal, but we definitely are consciously enjoying it."

It seems that Parker knows how to balance her love of food with caring for her health, as she's been very vocal about her love of walking. In her 73 Questions interview, when asked, "what's your favorite activity in New York City?" she replies, "walking."

And in a 2016 interview with The Doctors, SJP says of her secrets to beauty in her 50's, "I walk, I live in the city. I walk a lot. Right now that's all I have time for but I also live in a house with like four or five flights of stairs. And I have a fit bit."

She makes cooking an enjoyable experience

In her interview with Grub Street, SJP emphasizes just how much she loves to cook. When talking about what she made for dinner earlier in the week, she says, "I used a recipe from Julia Moskin, and I made soup with Joan Nathan's matzo-ball recipe. I love both of those writers; I love their whole history. They are people I go to all of the time for recipes. I have my Fannie Farmer Cookbook, which I've had since I was 18. It's super old-fashioned. It's probably super out of style, but I love it because it's what I've known."

Parker also mentions that she and her husband like to save food and use it to cook a lot of things from scratch. "We make chicken stock all the time here. We freeze it, and we like to use it in our rice," she tells Grub Street. "We save everything here. Matthew saves every Parmesan rind. If we have shrimp, we always try to make a stock with the shells, because it's so good and smells incredible. We always save the bacon grease. We have fat from a Spanish ham that Matthew bought for my son for Christmas, which we saved for cooking."

In an Instagram post from November 2021, SJP shares how much she loves cooking with a video of some sort of tomato concoction simmering on the stove. She says in the caption, "A short break from shooting, the rare opportunity when my husband isn't using every burner, my daughters aren't baking and I have it all to myself! We all want our hands on the Thermador. X, SJ."

She eats a big breakfast on busy days

Research has continually shown that eating a healthy, protein-heavy, nutrient-dense breakfast can help with things like better metabolism, and while SJP doesn't always start her day with breakfast, it seems that she at least finds the time to fuel up before busy shooting days.

"I have weird eating habits. I don't usually eat breakfast unless I'm shooting, and when I'm shooting, I have a full, massive, crazy breakfast. When I'm home and going to work on my own, I'll get up really early and just have coffee," she tells Grub Street.

She enjoys wine and cocktails

"I drank Invivo X, SJP Sauvignon blanc, my own wine. We drink wine, but I still love a cocktail," SJP tells Grub Street. "To be honest, I really do love a Cosmopolitan. I don't know how to make them well, but I genuinely love them."

Parker's love for wine is made apparent by the success of her wine collaboration with Invivo Wines, called INVIVO X, SJ.

She sticks to one cup of coffee

With someone as busy as Sarah Jessica Parker, it comes as no surprise that she's a coffee drinker. She tells Grub Street, "I drink Nespresso pods or — are you ready for this? — Nescafé instant coffee. It's like being in Greece. If I was in Miami, I could go to Little Havana for Cuban coffee. Sometimes I make Cuban coffee. I have the sock for it."

Although she's a coffee lover, SJP always limits herself to just one cup a day. "I like making coffee at home, though I only drink one cup in the morning. If I drank it all day, I would be a mess. I would be like a whippet."

With all of these healthy habits, it's no wonder why Parker looks stunning at 57!
